How come Chinese products are in low quality and unreliable?
"On August 2, 2007, Mattel's Fisher-Price subsidiary recalled almost a million Chinese-made toys, including Dora the Explorer and Sesame Street toys because of potential hazards from parts of the toys which were colored using lead-based paint."
China is notorious for manufacturing goods with a higher rate of failure or defective products; they are cheap but the quality is unreliable.
Who's blame for these problems?
Is it because of their government(corruption, less regulatory) or is it because Chinese people are generally insensible to moral and ethics?
Do you think the US company is also responsible for this matter?
Everyone is to blame regarding the recalls. China has poor standards when it comes to quality of products and reform is necessary, but the US companies are just as much to blame for buying these substandard toys. If they didn't check the factories before buying them then the companies were being idiots and if they did check them and still bought the substandard toys they were unethical.
Please don't stereotype an entire population as immoral just because capitalism forces everyone to lower costs, no matter what they eventually do. If every factory in China raised its standards to US levels then why would the US companies buy from China at all when the prices inevitably rise?
If you're thinking, "aren't the Chinese factory workers being immoral in not complaining about creating defective products", think about how many millions of workers are looking for jobs there and how any employer can fire entire work forces with ease and just as easily hire new workers.
