How different is their summer schedule from school's?
-Backpack - He had the same one for most of primary school and didn't want a new one. I bought one for him starting secondary tho, and I won't be buying a new one for him going back. He'll get a new one next year if he wants one.
-Lunch Box = He doesn't take a packed lunch
-Crayons, Colored Pencils, Markers - crayons, never. Markers, never. I bought coloured pencils a wee while ago because he didn't seem to have any and needed them for homework, before that it was years ago.
-Glue - I bought him a Pritt Stick last year.
-Rulers - He got a new one last year for starting secondary (and he has a few), so unless they break or get lost, I won't have to buy another one.
-Binders (3 ring or trapper keeper) - He hasn't needed any folders in school yet
-Pencils & Erasers - I buy him some each year for starting school.
-Scissors - He doesn't take scissors to school, they're not needed.
How often do you talk to your child's teacher? - Once a year at parents' night
Principal? - I've never had the need to, and hopefully never will
How do your kids readjust to their school schedule? Fine, he just has to go to bed earlier
How different is their summer schedule from school's? - During school holidays, he stays up late and sleeps late in the morning, and can go and stay with family etc and isn't so restricted because of school
