What do 3rd-4th graders (10-year-olds) eat for lunch at school?
I live in Japan, and next week I'll be talking to some 4th graders (10 year-olds) about life in America. The students will want to know what kids the same age eat for lunch in the U.S. If School Lunch, what is a common menu item? If bag/box lunch, what's inside?
The following is off of my daughters school menu. When I pack a lunch it's usually peanut butter and honey with a few healthy snacks and juice box.
Baked Chicken, Hot dogs, Chicken Fajitas, Pepperoni Pizza, Hamburgers, Beefy Chili, corn dogs, Turkey with gravy, Chicken Nuggets, Beef Rib Sandwich...for a few main courses
Potato wedges, Winter Fries (whatever those are), Spicy Beans, Garden Salad, Cornbread, Whipped potatoes, Steamed rice...for side dishes
Corn on the cob, Beans, Carrot sticks, mixed fruit, mixed veggies...for the fruit and veggie part (we all know most of that goes into the trash)
They also get a choice of Chocolate, Strawberry, or White milk as well
